The CAM Rescue Cath® is uniquely designed to remove thick, tenatious secretions that can threaten sudden occlusion of the endotracheal tube and result in the need for emergency reintubation or emergency tracheostomy. Partially obstructed tubes that may lead to delays in ventilator weaning can also be cleared in just a few seconds, without the need for any saline irrigation. The catheter is equipped with a standard airway suction tubing port, but it is narrower and more rigid than standard 14 French suction catheters. This catheter is an open system and intended for single-use only. Each CAM Rescue Cath® is individually packaged and sterilized. To view the brochure and instructional videos for clinical use of the CAM Rescue Cath®, please visit our Resource Center.
The pictures below show an endotracheal tube following clincial use that was first suctioned with a 14 Fr. suction catheter (picture on the left) and then cleaned with a CAM Rescue Cath® (picture on the right). These stillframes are 'BEFORE' and 'AFTER' images from one of our demonstration videos. If you would like to see a full-length fluoroscopy demonstration video, visit our online Resource Center.
Following suctioning with 14 Fr. catheter, secretion deposits remain inside ET tube
Following use of CAM Rescue Cath, no grossly visible secretion deposits remain
